海口湖大道作为园区五横路网骨架之一,现终点为工纵四路,并未与外部联通,作为园区干鱼山南部唯一一条东西向交通干线,随着海口湖科创岛片区的建设完成,园区的行政中心及文化中心向南部迁移,来往车辆增多,如车辆自富池及蓟州方向往返,至少需绕行至金三公路,单向额外增加里程约2.4km,同时道路建设后,从科创岛前往棋盘洲港区,可直接通过海口湖大道前往新港大道后直达港区,减少车辆在园区内道路上的绕行的同时缓解园区内道路的交通压力,充分发挥海口湖大道及新港大道的交通骨架作用。
